The Park Café operates as a cash-free restaurant and has done since opening in November 2022. We currently take payments through contactless, debit cards, credit cards, Apple Pay, and Google Pay. Please note, currently we are not able to accept American Express credit cards.
At The Park Café, we firmly believe that card-only restaurants will become more common over the coming years. We know first-hand that cash-free is a better solution for both our guests and staff, and here are a few reasons why:
i) Cash-free has substantial positive knock-on effects on your restaurant experience, namely faster payments and better service. Being a restaurant that wants only the best experiences for our staff, a cash-free policy allows us to remove time-consuming tasks. As a result, our cash-free policy allows our team to focus on the work they love – serving you.
ii) Being cash-free helps us avoid unnecessary costs. Savings made then go towards purchasing the highest quality ingredients – something that's become a challenge with the rising costs of raw ingredients.
iii) Hygiene is paramount, and handling cash can sometimes be conflicting when promoting a healthy dining environment. By going cashless, we are sure to avoid potential cross-contamination risks.
We are committed and proud to be a Dublin living wage employer at The Park Cafe. All team members are paid a Dublin Living Wage as a minimum.
We believe good work should be well rewarded. This means team members not having to rely on daily tips to make a living.
Our base living wage does not include any contributions from service charge or collected tips.
Why Service Charge? We believe that the unseen heroes in the restaurant and kitchen should also share and benefit from the goodwill.
All Service Charge is shared with the team on site. This includes the Kitchen and Front Of House staff. General Manager and Head Chef are not included in this.
Service Charge is discretionary and can be removed upon request.
Tips or service charge collected through credit or debit cards is distributed in full to our employees. All card-received tips are distributed amongst our floor and kitchen porter team. No management is included in this distribution.
Any cash tips are managed by employees themselves.
Our Tips & Gratuities Policy is available and displayed on-site at The Park Café.
